Castor oil is obtained from the so-called “tropical wonder tree” seeds from Africa, Ricinus Communis. The gold-colored oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins A and E. In addition, it provides moisture and has anti-inflammatory effects. With these properties, it is a real all-rounder for the care of skin and hair! It is said to have an impact against acne, sunburn, stretch marks, and wrinkles. It is also said to be effective as a massage oil for muscle aches and headaches. Castor oil should be stored in a dark and cool place if possible because permanent exposure to light can destroy the nutrients in the oil.
Which Castor Oil Is Best For Hair? This is to be considered when buying
As with many other care products, there are also quality differences with castor oil. But how can you recognize a high-quality castor oil? Quite simply: It is essential with castor oil for the hair to be cold-pressed and not refined. The refined oil loses necessary ingredients when it is heated during production. In addition, it should be pure castor oil of organic quality.

How is castor oil used?
If castor oil is misused in hair care, the result is unfortunately often unpleasant: dull, greasy hair, even after the next wash. It is therefore essential not to use too much oil – a few drops are enough. You can apply the oil to the scalp with a dropper or a cotton swab. Regular massages of the scalp with castor oil nourish the skin and stimulate blood circulation. It is best to leave the oil on overnight afterward. To maintain the hair in length, we recommend mixing it with water in a ratio of 2: 1 and applying it using a spray bottle. The perfect anti-frizz mix! For particularly damaged hair, you can add a few drops of castor oil to your hair treatment. If possible, you should not rinse the cure with hot water, but only with lukewarm water. You can also use the castor oil on its own as a cure: Massage a small amount of the oil into towel-dried hair and leave it on overnight under a cling film. However, it would help if you were prepared to wash the regimen several times with a mild shampoo.
What positive effects does castor oil have?
In addition to the various nutrients and its moisturizing effect, castor oil is also effective against fungi and bacteria. It also closes the hair structure when it is roughened and locks the moisture in a protective layer. When it comes to hair growth, however, castor oil cannot work miracles either because the speed of development and the hair density is genetically determined for each person. However, castor oil can make your hair more resilient and robust, preventing the hair from breaking off. If you want to have long hair, you are well-advised to use castor oil!
